Boon Wurrung Wathaurong Elder, Uncle Jack Charles, one of Australia’s most respected actors.
He co-founded Australia’s first Indigenous theatre group, Nindethana, in 1971 and appeared in theatre and film across the country.
He was a strong role-model who believed in the importance of connection to culture and he wanted stories of resistance and hope to be known in mainstream Australia.
